Using Evergreens in your new landscape can be very advantageous in creating year round appeal. Evergreens don’t ever lose their needles so they provide cover and color for the entire year. There are a lot of different sizes and shapes of these shrubs and trees so they can be used throughout the yard. The taller, more upright shrubs are great to place on the corner of a house to hide long vertical lines, or placed along a property line to create a privacy screen.
Smaller evergreens can be used in mulch or rock beds and do a great job of taking up space and providing the hardiness we look for in Colorado plants. They are also very easy to maintain as long as proper irrigation is set up.
