LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION GOLD AWARD (Small Budget)
A Modern Oasis
This South Denver project saw our team transforming an underutilized yard into a secure, functional urban retreat with a striking modern aesthetic. We successfully doubled the backyard space using a thin boundary wall, while also creating a fenced-in front yard for gatherings, which helped us cinch the gold in Landscape Construction. Additionally, we prioritized home security with durable steel fencing, locking gates, and strategic lighting for safety and nighttime use. This design also features drought-tolerant landscaping, concrete patios, and a hot tub, providing a sustainable, low-maintenance, year-round haven.
DESIGN+BUILD/NEW CONSTRUCTION SILVER AWARD (Small Budget)
Foothills
For a new build in Littleton, the homeowner envisioned a four-season outdoor space with upper and lower patios for entertaining, blending elegance with natural surroundings. Our team addressed steep grades and poor soil by using retaining walls and patios to level the terrain while extensively amending soil to support drought-tolerant plantings that aligned with the area’s native landscape. We chose high-quality materials to harmonize indoor and outdoor aesthetics while staying within budget, resulting in a functional and inviting space perfect for year-round gatherings, and a project worthy of securing the silver award in Design+Build/New Construction.
INNOVATION GOLD AWARD
Hilltop
In Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood, Down to Earth Landscaping created a modern, multi-dimensional outdoor space featuring a raised patio with floating steps, a custom chandelier, and drought-tolerant landscaping to preserve the large Maple trees on the property. Concrete flatwork expanded usable space by 40%, while artificial turf and a backyard hot tub added to the low-maintenance, year-round retreat. Other highlights include a steel-framed bench with seamless waterfall edges, privacy-enhancing custom fencing, and safety-focused outdoor lighting. Blending functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal, this project effectively showcases our dedication to innovative landscape design practices.
