A Quaint Courtyard

About this Project
Complete with just about every outdoor feature you can dream of, this backyard is very functional and elegant. This space has a very cottage-like feel with the pergola and pavers taking you back in time. Complementing that look, we added in some more modern features, such as a double kettle-style grill island built of cedar and a custom concrete countertop. Additionally, we installed some landscape lighting: up lights in the trees and plantings and path lights along the flagstone.
The bubbling rock water feature adds a soothing trickling water sound to the outdoor space, creating an enjoyable and relaxing environment. The dining area is set up to host dinner parties as well as late night hangs. We re-purposed all the existing flagstone and installed all new pathways on a solid base for evenness. This space was enjoyed all summer long, day and night. This project was one for the books!
Working with the Down to Earth team was one of the best experiences we have ever had with a home improvement project. They always showed up when they said they would, they were highly professional, while also friendly and responsive to our input. In addition, the work was phenomenal—exceeding what was drawn up in the plans. We could not be more pleased with the final result.
