Sustainable Serenity
In the front yard we removed all the grass and xeriscaped the space to reduce water use and minimize maintenance. The backyard is intended to be used by the client and their dog so we installed artificial turf and a beautiful paver patio. No more grass!

About this Project
Fitting the local trend of being water-conscious and reducing yard maintenance as much as possible, this yard was designed to do just this. This is a newly built home in a beautiful golf course neighborhood and the client really didn’t want to have to do much work to keep the yard in great shape.
The front yard was xeriscaped with native plantings and drip irrigation along with several different materials to give it a combination of textures and color. A dry creek bed was laid in to help break up the space and give a very natural look using all local materials. Outdoor lighting highlights some of the hardy plantings.
The backyard is the perfect space for the client to enjoy summer evenings and let the dog have a nice, green lawn year round! This is one of the benefits of artificial turf – It will be green year round and it is great for pets because they won’t track mud into the house through the dormant winter months. We installed a paver patio using a paver that has a very natural look and feel to it. The client will be able to have a fire pit out here or a dining table, depending on the occasion. More outdoor lighting in the back to make sure the client is getting the most out of their investment and can enjoy the yard year-round and beyond the hours of daylight. This yard has been the talk of the neighborhood!
