Spruce Up Your Outdoor Living Space with a Pergola

Jun 1, 2022

Adding a pergola to any existing or new landscape is an excellent way to improve your outdoor living space. Not only does a pergola provide shade to a patio or hardscape, it can add a different dimension to how you plant and entertain outdoors. Whether you hang bulb lights to brighten the area up, grow vines up the posts, or hang potted plants from the rafters, your pergola is sure to be the hit of your next party!

Pergolas come in many different styles and can be tailored to your exact needs. We can make sure you are getting as much sunblock as needed or keep it nice and open to see the stars at night! Here are some more key benefits to a pergola:

Pergolas are stunning. This is obvious. When you see a pergola in a yard or garden, it instantly makes that area seem more finished and complete. Even in a basic area, a pergola adds a lot of visual appeal.

Pergolas provide excellent shade. The spacing of the beams and rafters will determine how much shade it can really provide and adding a simple fabric cover to the top will give you maximum shade cover when the sun is over head. If you are patient, let your new plantings provide all the shade.

Planting climbing ivy, vines, or flowers in the right places will allow those plantings to grow up the posts and into the rafters and beams giving you a natural sun block while looking great and helping define your space.

Your landscape is an investment and you want to make sure you are getting full value out of it. Adding a pergola is an affordable way to really define that area. Do it over a new patio or hardscape and this will be the centerpiece of your new landscape!
